Another fantastic game by Ex-UM in our Quarter Finals game against "Tien Tien Fat" team. The team comprised mainly players from Sultan Cup's "Waterboy" team ...
I was not present for this game (at Dubai for work) and neither was Poh Guan (in Sabah for work). That meant both primary point guards were not present! The following recap therefore is based on Pin's report of the game.
TTF started the game with a zone press and without Poh Guan and me, the team did not have enough ball handlers and struggled early against their zone press, making a lot of turnovers. By the middle of the 2nd quarter, we were down and trailing by 12 points and by half time we were still trailing by 9 points.
In the 3rd Quarter, our players settle down and start to break TTF's zone press, forcing TTF to give up on their zone press and we managed to get our usual half-court offense going. By the end of 3rd Quarter we had caught up and taken a small 2 point lead.
In the 4th Quarter, we continue to steadily pull away. With 4 minutes left, we had a 10 point lead. From there on, we protected the lead till the end. Final score : 76-66!! Another fantastic win! All players who played, played with great patience and focus. Well played again Ex-UM!!
