Sad to report that UM lost it's semi finals game vs USM today 81-85. Our players played their hearts out and almost pulled the game out. But some late game mistakes cost us. Players now have to focus on preparing for tomorrow's 3rd / 4th game vs UUM at 9:30am.

USM started with good team chemistry, shot well at the 3-point line, making 4 big shots and gained an early lead of 31-13 in the first quarter. In view of the big lead by USM, coach asked for 32 zone press and the strategy effectively work and we manage to tie the score at 50-50 in the second quarter. Another quarter with lots and really LOTS of 3-point big shots. Fascinating game for audience and supporters. 3rd quarter, we continued our press and lead by 7points, 73-66. Hot hands from JW. In the forth quarter, left with 1minute48seconds, we still leading by 81-76. However, two 'critical' turnovers caused our lead narrow to 81-80. Time out was called, however, players late game mistakes had failed us to defend our title in an 'early-champion' game. Coaching team and players, we r together, no matter win or lose, life goes on and we will stay focus on the 3rd placing match. UM fight!!! P/S: all the while has been following u guys' match, it was really a sad night...:(

ReplyDeleteFor me, UMBBT have the best coaches and of course superb and vibrant players with great team spirit, strong commitment and respectful sportsmanship.
You guys are simply the best and you must believe that 'YOU ARE THE BEST' too:)!
